Meade® Color Filter Set #3

Improve the resolution and contrast of planetary and lunar images with this set of four color filters that enhance surface details and highlight even the subtlest planetary features. Using the correct filter, for example, can mean the difference between seeing and not seeing small craterlets on the Moon or seeing six festoons on Jupiter versus two. Includes:#8 Light Yellow Filter – 83% light transmission: A popular filter for the enhancement of lunar features#21 Orange Filter – 46% light transmission: Sharpens boundaries between the yellow-orange areas and blue-green regions on Mars#38A Dark Blue Filter – 17% light transmission: Strongly rejects orange and red wavelengths, making it great for the study of Jupiter's disc#56 Light Green Filter – 53% light transmission: Enhances detail of yellow-tinted dust storms on Martian surface Meade Series 4000 Filters measure 26mm in clear aperture and are manufactured from the purest crown optical glass, dyed-in-the-mass (not "color coated"). Each filter is anti-reflection coated on both sides and is mounted in a machined aluminum cell with the written number of the filter marked on the side of the cell. Filters may be piggybacked – or stacked – to achieve selective filtration of the visual color spectrum. For visual applications, Series 4000 Filters thread into the barrels of all Meade 1.25" eyepieces. Each filter is packed in a foam-fitted plastic case for secure long-term storage.
