Brett never knew his biological father, which has given him a strong desire to be a parent. Initially, Lilly was uneasy about having children but after she produced a documentary on midwifery she reconsidered the idea. In another twist, Brett converted to Judiasm when he married Lilly – a decision his family was not very happy about.
